Introducing the OCLC EMEA FTP server As of August 11th, the OCLC EMEA FTP server will be located on a different system. The new FTP server will have several advantages. o the TCP/IP address of the FTP server will not change - you can still use the name ftp.pica.nl. However, if your DNS has not been updated yet, you can use the numeric equivalent 192.87.104.19 o the new FTP server uses a different method of authorisation. It is no longer necessary to first log in as "anonymous" and change to a particular group. In the new setup, the group names are used as usernames when logging in. Groups represent a product. Below is an overview of all groups : cbspsi gum iport lbs3 lbs4 lbsmaint ouf sybase sybupdate tolk2 trainmod winibw o anonymous access will remain an option and will be used for those files unrelated to a product. o the FTP server can also be accessed using a web-browser (http://ftp.pica.nl). This does not change the method of authorisation. o mailing-lists are used for password distribution of FTP accounts. In order to receive new FTP group passwords for certain products, you must subscribe to the mailing-list for that particular group. If you are currently a mailing-list subscriber to any of the FTP groups mentioned above, it is not necessary to re-subscribe to that group. In other words, current subscriptions remain valid. All FTP server related information is available for downloading from the new FTP server. Connect to ftp.pica.nl and log in as user "anonymous" (without the quotes).
